Kelp

Our farm began with kelp. In 2022, we started experimenting with growing sugar kelp (Saccharina latissima) in Long Island Sound, drawn to its potential as both a sustainable crop and an ocean ally. Kelp requires no feed, fertilizer, or freshwater to grow, just sunlight and seawater, making it one of the most sustainable foods on the planet.

Beyond its culinary uses, kelp can be used for soil fertilizer, bio-plastics, and more! If you have any ideas or want to discuss kelp please reach out.
